BAPTISM AT PANAGIA FANEROMENI

It is a common misconception that wedding photographers are only interested in taking pictures of couples on their big day. In my case, I can attest that what personally drives me is capturing images of love. Whether it is a bride and groom exchanging vows at the altar or the baptism of the fruit of their love, their child. So the honor I feel as a photographer is the same. In my profession, I consider myself privileged to witness and immortalize tender, loving and intimate moments that mark some of the best days of our lives.

THE LITTLE PRINCE

Little George’s baptism at Panagia Faneromeni in Vouliagmeni, followed by a reception at Island Art and Taste on the Athens Riviera, was precisely such a day. The church was minimally decorated with yellow flowers, adding a modern and youthful touch to the venue. While children are known to cry and protest during their baptism, it was a relief to find that the little boy soon to be known as George was very courageous. He held his held up high and beamed with positive energy, a quality I hope he preserves for the future ahead of him. Held by his godfather, the child smiled and laughed cheekily as he was held above water about to be dipped in and officially given his name: George.

THE BAPTISM VENUE

Donning a smart navy suit tailored to his size, George followed his family to Island Art and Taste, a beautiful location for a daytime event. George, his family and the guests all wandered around to admire the astonishing sea views, while helping themselves to a buffet of cakes, meringues, cupcakes and biscuits.  All was in the same yellow and blue color scheme. As everyone in attendance sat and laughed under the shade of trees, I marveled at all the different generations chatting and enjoying each other’s company and pondered on the importance of family, which makes such moments possible.

Enjoy,
